The Halifax Woman's Club


      The Halifax Woman's Club of the Alice Kyle District is a member of the General Foundation of Women's Clubs of Virginia. Members of the GFWC of Virginia are members of the General Federation of Women's Clubs, one of the largest women's volunteer organizations in the world.

The GFWC, an international organization, comprises a membership of approximately 322,000, with 7,900 clubs in 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and 45 countries and territories.

      Organized May 7, 1929, the Halifax Woman's Club constitution states that the organization shall be the intellectual, philanthropic, social, civic and domestic betterment of our town and community. Today the club has 76 members.
